What were your reasons for accepting the Lean for Life Challenge?
I accepted this challenge because I had already tried out the workouts and made the
decision to start attending Fitmania regularly. I joined the challenge so that it would force me to
stick with it. I’ve been an athlete in the past, have competed in many running races over the
years, but never stuck to a regular training schedule for longer that a few months. I knew it was
time to make fitness a part of my life, everyday.
Another reason is the results I was seeing from my friends who had been attending
Fitmania. I would hug them and could feel their strength improvement!

What were your successes, obstacles, life changes, etc. during the challenge?
First of all, the challenge was during the summer so right away there are many obstacles
as far as keeping with the food protocol. Camping, BBQs, parties are all challenging foodwise.
I have learned that it’s ok to not take everything that is offered at a dinner. I have successfully
cut out bread and flour based items this is a HUGE thing for me because I love bread and love
pasta even more. It has been a dramatic change for my family also because I used to cook
pasta all the time. The amazing thing is, because my kids are basically eating the Fitmania way
also, I’ve noticed they don’t get as hungry after dinner. Sure, the have a snack but it is different.
As far as the workouts, I think it was a success that I continued to workout regularly for 3
months! Now I’m kind of addicted to the workouts and look forward to going. It’s a huge change
from when I started because the first few times I was basically just trying to make it through.
Now I’m actually working out! The only stat I can remember from my sheet is that my 1 minute
push up went from barely making 13, to 22! My overall measurements were pretty surprising I
lost a total of 13 inches and 1 pound. The thing that I love more than that is that I can literally
feel my body changing, my tummy is shrinking and my legs are getting defined and all of that is
a great feeling and will keep me coming back.
